A honing steel doesn’t sharpen a knife, it corrects it. Every time a blade rolls against a cutting board or bone, the edge bends microscopically out of true. This 9-inch rod pulls it back straight in three or four passes, no metal removed, no trip to the stone. Keep it at the station, not in a drawer, and use it before every shift and again mid-service when the edge starts dragging instead of slicing. The fine-grooved surface and full tang give it enough weight to feel controlled, not flimsy, so the angle stays consistent pass after pass. It won’t fix a dull knife. It keeps a sharp one sharp longer, which is the whole point.
Price we've observed
Every point is a price this site read on the maker's own page on the day shown. It is not a market low, and it is not scraped from a price tracker — it is only what we have seen ourselves. Today's price is the lowest we've recorded.
In a working kitchen the knife that gets used hardest is the one that needs this most. A cook breaking down proteins all night doesn't have time to stop and sharpen, but thirty seconds on a steel before the next ticket keeps the edge tracking straight through service. It's the difference between fighting a knife by hour six and still cutting clean at close.
