Tall Tumbler
A water glass with enough weight to matter.
We earn nothing on this one. It’s here because it’s good, and the link goes to Heath Ceramics.
Heath makes this tumbler by hand in Sausalito, and it shows in the glaze, which pools a touch heavier at the base and thins toward the rim, so no two are quite identical. It carries real weight in the hand, solid enough that it sits still on a soft tablecloth instead of skating when someone bumps the table. The rim is rolled smooth, no seam to catch a lip or chip on the first trip into the sink. Stack a few on an open shelf and the color does the talking, no label required. Good for water, iced tea, or a short pour of something stronger. It goes from tap to dishwasher to shelf without dulling, which is the part that actually gets tested over time.
I buy tableware the way I buy pans, for what survives daily use, not for how it photographs once. This tumbler has honest heft, a glaze that reads as handmade without being precious about it, and a rim that won't chip the first week it's in rotation. Set a home table with these and nothing about them says careful or delicate. They just work, night after night, which is the only review that matters to someone who has to replace things that don't.
