Cottage Candlestick
Stoneware candlestick with a footprint that stays put
We earn nothing on this one. It’s here because it’s good, and the link goes to Farmhouse Pottery.
This is thrown stoneware, not the light resin candlesticks that tip over when a kid bumps the table. It has real heft in the hand and a glaze finish that wipes clean when wax drips down the side, which it will. The socket fits a standard taper without you having to shave the end down to make it fit. One on each end of the table reads as a set without matching anything else on the table. Off season it holds a single stem just as well as a candle, so it earns its shelf space year round instead of sitting in a box waiting for a holiday.
I buy tabletop pieces for a living and most candlesticks fail on one of two things: they tip, or the socket is wrong for the candle you actually own. This one is heavy enough to stand up to a full dinner table in motion, and the taper fit is honest, no forcing, no wobble. It reads well against plain linen or bare wood, which means it works with whatever plates you already own instead of demanding a whole new table setting to match it.
